The Electoral College

The Electoral College is supposed to be a safeguard, a body of wise and responsible people who can prevent the public from making a rash and foolish choice while electing someone to the highest office in the land. 

We now have the perfect opportunity to test the effectiveness of that role, a political doomsday scenario, the very thing that the Electoral College was designed to stop. Let's see if they'll take a stand and make a reasonable choice for President. If the Electoral college is simply a rubber stamp, it's useless and should be abolished.
