I don’t recall
What a Petunia looks like
I’ve no sense at all
I picture a small, round flower
This hour
Not a perennial,
But the kind that you have to
Replant every year
That’s my idea
And it’s not too clear
But it doesn’t really matter
A name like Petunia
Sounds so cute
That I don’t really care
What it looks like
If you told me
You bought me
A Petunia
I would smile
For a while
Even if I didn’t remember
Precisely
What it looked like
Or smelled like
And so it is
With best things in life
They bring us a smile
And a warm, cozy feeling
Even when
We don’t understand them
Even when
There isn’t a why
