Things As They Are

All my life 

I’ve been polite 

It didn’t get me far 

I yearn to take more chances now 

Express things as they are 


I may use words  

That sound absurd

Or leave you feeling shocked 

But all our thoughts 

And feelings

Should be heard 

Before they’re lost
