Bigotry and Language

When a bigot expresses annoyance with someone for speaking an unfamiliar language, we shouldn’t be surprised. Linguistic skills are the building blocks of thinking and reason. Communication allows us to develop and maintain meaningful and mutually beneficial relationships. Any practice that counteracts ignorance, isolation, and tribalism leaves bigots feeling uncomfortable.
