New York Minute 5 - Fire In The Hole

A utility technician called out to his colleague on a bitterly cold morning.

"We have to tow these cars! When there's smoke coming out of the hole, you have tow the cars!"

Indeed, there was smoke coming out of a manhole marked with orange cones near where the technician was standing. It wasn't a lot of smoke, but it was enough to reach the other side of the street. I sensed the distinct smell of an electrical fire.

The second technician's response was unintelligible, as he was facing away from me.

The first technician addressed him again, this time with more urgency: "There's a fire in the HOLE!"
