Animal Instincts

At his political rallies, Donald Trump refers to immigrants as animals. “People tell me not to say that, but I do,” he boasts proudly while beaming his signature condescending smirk, “because that’s what they are.”

By extension, Trump considers the six immigrants who died while patching potholes on Baltimore’s Key Bridge to be animals. Six hard-working men who signed up for the night shift to improve our roadways. Six fathers and husbands and brothers who worked a cold, dangerous job in hopes of making a better future for their families.

The only animal in this story is named Donald Trump.
